I'm not going to go into details but that experience in Oct. sure blew my mind in many different ways. The biggest being I don't want to die and I don't want to continue just existing and not living. So for the past few months I've been working on getting my head in a better place. As I did that, I started wanting to stitch. My niece asked for a piece of Harmony Bear, one of the Care Bears. I've been stitching for the last few weeks, with the last week being very regularly and with increasing enjoyment.
Here it is, my first piece of completed cross stitch since Dec. 2011. I am so very happy to have it done!

I seem to have woken up my stitchy bug, so the next piece to go on the hoop will be the piece I owe a friend.
I'm glad to see a post from you Missy and hope you continue to feel better. Sorry to hear about your health problems as I know you have faced many challenges already with that. One step at a time is all we can do ...I hope you keep on enjoying some stitching time, I find it therapeutic when I am worried and anxious.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanne, I appreciate it! I am doing my best to take one step at a time and stay out of the depression. I finished the care bear and all I keep thinking of is "come on, put the other one on the hoop, lets go!" LOL So I guess my stitchy bug is back for a while :)
DeleteCongrats on your finish!!! I am always keen to get the next project going when I finish one :) Enjoy your stitchy bug!
ReplyDeleteThank you jo! I too get quite excited when a project is close to being done and my mind wanders into thoughts of what to do next. Right now, I'm just glad to be stitching :)
DeleteGlad to hear that you came out of the health scare in one piece. Sometimes it takes a scare to realise what we might be missing out on.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your stitchy bug has returned, the Care Bear is lovely!
Thank you Miamina, You are right, sometimes a scare is needed to wake us up again.
DeleteGreat to see you posting again! The Care Bear seems to have done the trick, there is nothing like making a child happy to make you feel good too.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the stitchingness continues to keep the depression at bay and we see lots more finishes from you this year.
Thank you Jo! I have to agree that pleasing a child just feels marvelous! I started the bear in July, stitched part of the pink bag and quit. Once my stitchy bug woke up again though, I got it done in just a couple weeks.
DeleteI too hope it can keep the depression away, I am trying real hard and so far so good!
Thank you for your support and well wishes, I appreciate it!
